Try to stay with an intake that has 318 sized ports but the factory put large port 360 4bbl intake manifolds on the 318 when they finally went to a 4bbl and they still worked great. 273 4 bbl intake is a good match too. That early 273 crank has a smaller hole for the crank snout to fit into than later model engines had ('67 & later I think). So a converter used behind a 318, 340, 360 and later year 273's will not fit. Machining the hole larger in the back of the crank while it's at the machine shop for balancing is one option.
